Owl Finch

Owl Finch

The owl finch - also known as the double-barred finch, is a small social grass finch native to Australia. They get their name from the black and white facial markings that resemble an owl's face. These birds are popular in aviculture because to their playful temperament and strong pair bonds!

Adult size: 3-4” in length and 15-1g in weight!

Diet: a good quality finch seed mix (approx. 50-70%) and pellets, supplemented with fresh greens (broccoli, kale), sprouted seeds, and egg food. They are insectivores that thrive with daily live protein like mealworms or grubs, plus constant access to calcium (cuttlebone) and clean water.
